A visit to W3BGN September 1999


Steve´s antennas are hard to photograph as all towers are located between trees. The 40-2CD on the left is at about 25m. The wire above the pond belongs to the vertically polarized 160m Delta Loop.


The garden around Steve´s house is very idyllic with a lot of deer in the woods!


Steve has an excellent signal on the low bands and is serious about DXCC. He even integrated a seperate PC screen into his armchair in the living room to continously monitor packet spots! Note the homebrew antenna switching on the right.	40m sounded very quiet! Steve uses an IC781 + IC4KL, separate Yagi stacks on 10-20m, and a unique 80m Array consisting of a Delta Loop with parasitic vertical elements.
